May 2013 Newsletter

Hello All

Well how can i start a May newsletter without first reflecting upon a very a successful start to the season in April. The first 2 regional rounds of the Youth & Junior have taken place and thankfully the panthers have come out on top in both so far. Its great to see our regulars improve and also to see our newer younger riders take their bow and race for the team. (its make the time & effort training them most rewarding to see them competing and competing well 🙂 )

Please remember that if you have not paid your memberships yet then these are now well overdue so please do so at earliest opportunity. Also please note we are going to close the orders for hoodies within the next couple of weeks so if you want one please ensure that you put your name down on the list inside the tuck shop..

Thanks also to Kelly for setting up our facebook page. i notice there are only 90 likes on there 😦 please if you have not already signed on and liked the page then please do so and also inform your family members of the facility that we have created to track their family members progress !

May begins with a massive weekend for the club when our Under 10`s team head down to Poole on saturday to defend their National Under 10`s title for hopefully the 4th time in a row so good luck Lewis Brinkhoff, Jake Vincent, Ollie Wright, Ollie Reynolds & Alfie Steward. On Sunday Evan Vincent & Jay Berry travel to Swindon in the British Under 13 Individual finals and then on Monday our Under 13`s go to Exeter to try and better their 3rd place finish in the British Under 13 team championships so again good luck Tyler Brinkhoff, Lewis Brinkhoff, Jay Berry, Evan Vincent & Jake Vincent. For those doing all of these its a mere 850 miles on the road at the weekend !. Keep an eye on our facebook page for results as they happen !

Now for the rest of May :

Wednesday 8th May – Suffolk U9, U13 & U18 GP Round 2.

This has now switched to Ipswich and if your son or daughter is intending to ride then they will need to book in at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.

Round 1 took place a few weeks ago at Kesgrave so am assuming that you all know the format and can just turn up on the night to race.

The format for this meeting has now been set as an under 13 meeting but each team has to include 2 under 10 riders. We are entering 3 teams in this event (4 riders plus reserve). Colchester & Blakenham have been given special dispensation to track under 16 riders to try and even things up.

meeting starts at 7.30pm so be there for 7pm however i will try and get the start time brought forward by 30 minutes and let you know if this happens.

I will announce the teams sometime next week.

Saturday 18th May – Youth & Junior League Regional Round 3.

Round 3 is quickly coming upon us and we hope that you will support the club as well as your childs development by racing in this meeting. The meeting is being held at Eaton Park (Norwich) and as per the clubs objectives it would be great to see as many riders there as possible.

I will send an email next week asking for confirmations but feel to confirm early if you so wish.

This round also doubles up as round 3 of the South East GP so seniors & Vets can ride too.

Sunday 19th May – Senior Meeting – Ipswich V Kesgrave

Team etc will be advised separately closer to the date.

Wednesday 29th May – Suffolk Under 11, Under 15 & Senior GP Round 2.

This meeting is taking place at Ipswich and if your son or daughter is intending to ride then they will need to book in at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.

Round 1 took place a few weeks ago at Blakenham so am assuming that you all know the format and can just turn up on the night to race.

Prior Notice – Wednesday 5th June – Suffolk Under 10 Individual at Somersham

Please note that the above meeting you will need to book in 1 week in advance so closing date is 29th May. Please let me know before this date if your son or daughter want to ride.

Meeting starts at 7pm so you will need to be there for 6.30pm.

Well that’s a rather quiet month of may completed so we may try and fit in some maintenance during this month so will keep you posted on this. Also i need to draw your attention to the massive meeting we have coming up on 20th July (Youth & Junior National) and on this day and days leading up to it that we are going to be very busy preparing and organising and will need as much help as we can get.

That’s it for now so if you have any problems or queries then please let me know ?

Thanks
Rob
